How to Go
By Air

kilometers back to Shillong
there is a small airport naming Umroi.
From this airport buses & taxi services are available.
Another option is Gopinath Bordoloi Airport in Guwahati which is near about 128 km
from Shillong. Anyone can hire a shared taxi or Tata sumo or any car from the
outside of the airport which is directly connected to Shillong. The rate is
also minimal, Rs-300 per passenger.
Rail
Meghalaya has no railway connection
till now but the railway station Guwahati
which is 104 km away from
Shillong & nicely associated with Guwahati.
Helicopter Service
Another
option is Helicopter which is available from Guwahati to Shillong & Shillong to
Guwahati. The ride takes only 20 minutes
to reach Shillong.

three types of Communities found over here.

2. Jaintia
festival – celebrated in the month of July at Jowai. It is also known as
Behdeinkhlam
festival.
3. Garo
festival – celebrated in the month of November at Garo hills. It is also known as Wangala festival.
