PURI
Puri is most popular travel
destination in Orissa for Indian people. Puri is a coast area of Orissa. Main
attraction of this place is Jagannath
temple. The temple is about 900 year
old. Bay of Bengal is another main
attraction at this place. The blue water of sea and fresh air energize everyone.
How to go:-
From any state there are many naming
express trains go direct to Puri station. The fare of trains is minimal. Air
transport is also available, but then passengers have to travel by car from
airport.

The main attraction is the tallest temple of Orissa, Jagannath Temple. The temple was built
by Chodaganga Deva during 12th
A.D. Many families run their daily life
depending on this temple. The people are very much devoted to the Lord
Jagannath. This place is very religious place to all of Indians.
Other important religious places
are Gundicha, Tota Gopinath temple, Chandan
Sorovar, Loknath Temple, Sunaragauranga, daria Mahabir, etc.
Another main place of interest is 480 km. stretched Coastline. The south
most part of Puri is surrounded by the
Bay of Bengal. The clean beach and
soothing atmosphere help to indulge in happiness.
The journey will be incomplete without a visit to Shakshi Gopal. Lord Shakshigopal is also
known as Satyabadi.
Chilika lake of Satapara attracts people through her
beauty. This lake in joined with the Bay of Bengal. The calm weather gives
peace to heart. Dolphins round the year and migratory birds in winter increase
the beauty of the lake.
Alike this there is an art village 27 km south west of Puri. It is Raghurajpur. This village is the native village of Guru Kelucharan Mahapatra. Influenced by him
every boys practice Odissi dance at here. This village is also famous for Pattachitra and talapattachitra.

Konark Temple:-
One of the most dramatic monuments of religious connotation,
a true masterpiece of architecture which is arrogantly stands in the shape of
Sun Temple at Konark. It is located
at a convenient distance from the Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri at approx 35 kms. The Konark temple is about 65 kms from the capital city of Orissa (Bhubaneswar).

Being a coast area the craze of fish and fish items is very
much in Puri. Fresh fish and lovely items give a jerk to insipid mood. But for vegetarians
have good news. Balananda Ashram, Kakatua hotel, Iskon Math provide a good homely veg food to people.
The main attraction in Puri is Goja. This is a Sweet dish. It
is made by Flour and fried in ghee. None comes back home without this sweetdish Goja.
Shopping place and items:-
Katki printed apparels are very famous in Puri. Tourist may
shop their desired items from shops placed at the market complex. Katki saree is famous throughout India.
As for a religious place there are many shpos of items by which God is
worshipped. People get shankha on Puri.
The
art of Sambalpur is also very
famous. Sambalpuri printed bags, sarees and another clothing line is also attracting
tourist.
